A Case of Granular Cell Tumor in the Larynx

Abstract
Granular cell tumor is a relatively rare neoplasm in the larynx. The skin and tongue are the most common affected sites. It has been estimated that multiple lesions occur in 2 to 14% of cases. Most tumors occur between second to sixth decades of
life.
Because pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia is frequently associated with granular cell tumor, it should be differenciated from squamous cell tumor. Wide local excion, the treatment of choice, should be curative. Recently CO2 laser is used to
remove
granular cell tumor in tongue and larynx.
The author experienced a case of granular cell tumor in the larynx which was confirmed by histopathologic study.
